Miami is known for its weather, beaches and nightlife; I had the opportunity to experience it all.
First let me be honest with you I always have every intention of planning shoots and taking instagram photos when I travel, but when I arrived in Miami I realize all I wanted was relaxation. I had a goals of visiting a few places on my list like the Wynwood Art District, but that didn’t quite work out. Instead we arrived at Clay Hotel (booked through Expedia) only to have our room given away due to a mix up with booking. Unfortunately, we actually heard that this has been a problem previously. Sigh.

Still on my high from actually being in Miami, we were just as excited to stay in El Paseo hotel across the street – I definitely recommend everyone to stay here. There were many things to see and do, y’all. UBER was the best thing we had there to get around. If you’re ever headed out, enjoy a full night for half the price with my code:

Travel Guide

So this wasn’t actually in Miami, but they helped me navigate a bit.

Havana 1957

This was the restaurant below/next door to our place and it was amazing. The vibe, drinks and brunch were definitely BOMB. Normally I hate when my foods touch, but they served our breakfast in a skillet of deliciousness.

Lincoln Road

If you’re looking to shop and explore like a tourist this is the place for you.  We didn’t do much shopping – again time.

Puerto Sagua

It was 1:00 in the afternoon and we stumbled here. Puerto Sagua is a  diner in Miami known for its cuban classics. Best cuban food I’ve ever had, hands down. I opted for the cuban sandwich while my friend went for the oxtail and rice.

I’m planning a trip back and soon, anyone have recommendations on where to go next?

I visited Miami on a layover and didn’t really get a chance to enjoy myself. But I honestly believe that it was because I was extremely tired and hungry and that’s not a good combo when your mind wants to explore but your stomach is like, “nahh.”
I do plan to give it another go sometime in the future. I know there’s a ferry you can take from Miami to the Bahamas, so I’m thinking about doing that with my children.
